Chris Sword
Chris is a businessperson with a track record of success in diverse environments. He has international experience across multiple industries: sports equipment / apparel / footwear, technology, automotive and financial services. Chris is the President of PEARL iZUMi, one of the cycling industry's most iconic and beloved brands. Prior to that, Chris was Founder/President of the North American business for Oberalp (an Italian-based company which owns the Dynafit, Salewa, Wild Country, and Pomoca brands). He built and led an industry-leading team that drove substantial profitable growth during his tenure (highlights include establishing Dynafit as the market’s leading premium backcountry brand, and also launching and cementing the Salewa brand’s foundation in the market).
Chris’ diverse experience can be highlighted by leadership roles with Russell Corporation in marketing and product development, Applied Theory in corporate development and M&A, and Ford Motor Company in global motorsports marketing and product strategy.
Chris is also committed to supporting industry groups and community activities, and serves as an Advisor/Mentor for organizations like adVentures Academy and Black Lab Sports. He earned his undergraduate degree in Finance at Villanova University, and his MBA in Marketing at Duke’s Fuqua School of Business.
